Kenneth B. Peay was born in Payson and raised on a farm in Benjamin. He attended grade school in Benjamin, Jr. High School in Spanish Fork and graduated from Spanish Fork High School.
He served a Mission for the LDS church in Ontario, Canada.
He served our country for three years in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He is a graduate of Southern Utah University with a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology.
He holds a Masters of Public Administration degree from Brigham Young University.
Ken was a Deputy Sheriff in Iron County for nearly two years and was then hired by Utah Highway Patrol. His experience in the Highway Patrol included, trooper, armorer, Sergeant, protective detail leader for Governor's S. Matheson and N. Bangerter, Commander in State Liquor and Narcotics, Bureau Chief at the Police Academy, Field Commander in Salt Lake County, Commander of the Mounted Police Unit during the Winter Games in 2002, and Field Commander in Utah County.
Ken retired two years ago after serving the citizens of Utah for 31 years as a peace officer.
Ken and his wife Cecile live on a small farm in Benjamin. They have three children and four grandchildren. Both Ken and Cecile are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
At present, Ken is the Criminal Justice Program Administrator at Provo College.
